Matt.3:13-17 & Mk. 1:9-11.

Matt.3

13 Then Jesus came from (Mk.1:9) Nazareth (Matt.3:13) of Galilee to Jordan to John, to be baptized by him.

14 But John prevented him, saying: "I need to be baptized

by you. Do you come to me?"
15 But Jesus answering said to him: "Allow it for now: for

so it is fitting for us to fulfil all righteousness." Then he

allowed him.

16 And Jesus, having been baptized, went up straightaway

out of the water: and, behold, the heavens were opened

for him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a

dove, and alighting upon him: cf. Jn. 1:32-34

17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying,

(That which John heard)

"This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

cf. Jn.12:30

Mk.1:11.And …

(That which Jesus heard)

"You man are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.") cf. Jn.12:29
