OF JESUS

THE ARREST OF JESUS IN
THE TUESDAY PROBABLY Jn.18 3 Therefore
Judas having received the detachment and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees comes there with torches and lamps and weapons.
(Lk.22:47) And he who was called Judas, one of the twelve was going before
them: Matt. 26 47 a great multitude with swords
and sticks. 48 And he
who was betraying him gave them a sign, saying, (Matt.26:48 & Mk.14:44) “Whomever I kiss is he, seize
him (Mk.14:44)
and lead him safely away.” Jn.18 4 So Jesus knowing that all
things were coming upon him went forward and said to them, “Whom do you seek?” 5 They
answered him, “Jesus the Nazarene.”
Jesus says to them, “I, I am he.”
And Judas who was betraying him was standing with
them. 6
Therefore when he said, “I, I am he”
they drew back and fell to the ground. 7
Again he asked them, “Whom do you seek.” And they said, “Jesus of 8
Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. Therefore if you are seeking
me, allow these men to go.” 9 That the word, which he spoke might be fulfilled, “Of those
whom you have given me I have not lost any.” Lk.22 47 And Judas drew near to Jesus to kiss him. 48 But Jesus said to him, “Judas, do
you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?” Matt. 26 49 And immediately having come up to Jesus, he
said, “Greetings,
master, and kissed him. 50a But Jesus said to him, “Friend, Why did you
come?”
Lk.22 49 And those around him seeing what was about to happen
said to him, “Lord, shall we
smite with the sword? Matt. 26 50b Then having come to him they laid
hands on Jesus, and took him. Jn.18 10 So Simon Peter having a sword drew it and struck the servant
of the High Priest and
cut off his right ear and the name of the servant was Malchus. Lk.22 51 And in
reply Jesus said, “Allow even this.” (Jn.18:11)
“Put your sword into its sheath.
Matt. 26 52… Return your sword to its place: for all who take the sword shall
perish by the sword. 53 Or do you not think that I cannot now
call to my Father, and he shall provide me with more than twelve legions of angels? (Jn.18:11) Should I not drink the cup, which the Father has given
me Matt. 26 54 How then shall the scriptures be fulfilled,
that it must be so?” Lk.22
And having touched the ear of the servant he healed him 52 And Jesus said
to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders who had come up against him, Matt. 26 55 to the multitudes, (Lk.22:52) Have you come out (Matt.26:55, Mk.14:48 & Lk.22:52) as against a
thief? (Matt.26:55, Mk.14:48 ) Have you come out (Matt.26:55, Mk.14:48 & Lk.22:52)
with swords and sticks to take me? (Matt.26:55, Mk.14:49 &
Lk.22:53) Daily (Mk.14:49)
I was (Matt.26:55 & Mk.14:49) with
you. (Matt.26:55) I
sat teaching in the temple. (Lk.22:53) When
I was with you (Mk.14:49 & Lk.22:53)
in the temple (Mk.14:49) teaching, (Matt.26:55 & Mk.14:49) you did not seize me. (Lk.22:53) You
did not stretch out your hands against me. (Matt.26:56)
But all this is happening (Matt.26:56 & Mk.14:49) so
that the writings (Matt.26:56)
of the prophets (Matt.26:56 & Mk.14:49) might
be fulfilled. (Lk.22:53) But this is your hour and the power of darkness. Jn.18 12 So the garrison and the chief captain and the officers
of the Jews took hold of Jesus and bound him. 56 Then all the disciples forsook him, and
fled. |
